Samsung Frame TV: A trendy addition or latest fad?

Updated: Dec 17, 2022

In my on-going quest for a more aesthetic home, I spend countless hours browsing social media for inspiration. It keeps me on top of the latest trends, discovering fresh and innovative ideas.

So naturally, I was scrolling through Pinterest a few weeks ago when posts about one product caught my eye; the Samsung Frame TV. Designed like a picture frame, this unit looks nothing like a traditional TV - it's artistic, sophisticated, and oh so tempting.

But is The Frame a stroke of genius or just a glorified digital picture frame.

Read my review to find out.

What Is The Samsung Frame TV?

A 4k QLED display, The Frame, is a TV that delivers top-notch performance while mimicking a fine art canvas.

Art Mode

The Art Mode feature is what makes this device truly stand out; or rather blend in. It lets you display various art pieces while your TV sits idle. Samsung's art store offers a good selection for free, but you can access curated art with a monthly subscription.

The Frame

As the name suggests, The Frame includes ultra slim bezels. With magnetic snap-on bezels, you can customize the outside frame to add a more personalized touch.

No Gap TV Brackets

Included in the box are No Gap TV brackets that mount the picture frame-style TV flat against the wall to imitate wall décor.

Is it a painting or is it a TV?

You can’t tell the difference!

One Connect Box

Housing all the connections from consoles and cable box, the One Connect Box links everything to your TV with only a single "invisible" cable.

SamsungFrame TV: How Does It Compare?

Samsung's 'The Frame' is the best lifestyle TV, but it’s certainly not the first of its kind. In 2016, LG released its G-Series OLED TVs with a Gallery Mode that showcased art and paintings. Since then, many tech brands like Sony, with their A8H series, have jumped into the picture to release their version of frame-like televisions.

Pros and Cons

For the average consumer who isn't tech-savvy, here is a list of the top pros and cons of the SamsungFrame TV:

The Good

· Amazing art mode

· Unique anti-glare, anti-fingerprint, matte finish display

· Available in sizes ranging from 32″ to 85”

· Customizable bezels

· Best smart TV software

The Bad

· Average picture and sound for the price

· Limited choice of free artwork

· Expensive

Final Verdict

Unlike most TVs with bulky bezels and messy wires, Samsung's The Frame lets you transform your living room into an impressive art gallery. Enjoy your favorite shows or display artwork from Van Gogh; The Frame is a fine art connoisseur's dream come true!

However, consider this digital frame a hard pass if you're short on cash. For close to half the price, you can find other options that offer brilliant TV performance, minus all the gimmicky features.
